At last, the official invitation to Bob Scott's Whangamata Toe Kickers 2nd Annual Golden Oldies rugby tournament.

Saturday 9th October 2010.  Kickoff 10am sharp (or thereabouts)...

Limited to 10 teams - register now, just $150 per team.

Format:   2 games per team (15 minute halves), $10 per player (earns you a beer and a Ma Savage meal - you CAN'T do better than that).

PostHeaderIcon Roll on 2010 - and number two!

The First Annual Whangamata Golden Oldies Rugby festival kicked off with a meet and greet at the main sponsors for the tournament, Softy’s Bar & Grill, on Friday night, capped of with a fine win by Waikato on the big screen.

Saturday saw 150 players register from eight teams for the tournament from as far afield as Putaruru and Karaka, South Auckland.

 

85 year old Roy Brooks looks for the next tackler to fend on another rampaging run up the middle.

 

With a welcome from Mick Brien on behalf of the Whangamata Rugby Club, introductions of teams, referees and the patron of the local Toekickers, Bob Scott completed, Pete Peke did a traditional Maori blessing and the games were about to start.

Where do I start about such a great day had by all Rugby teams and Netballers at the first Bob Scott Rugby Festival!?

AT the start then - it started with the great photo taken by Bartley Internet and Graphics in which a very small time was turned into glossy poster given to all present teams and signed by our the one and only original bare foot toe kicker, and our patron, Bob Scott.
